Larry Pozner is America’s authority on cross-examination. His books Cross Examination: Science and Techniques (NACDL, 4th Ed. 2026, Pozner and Dodd) and Pozner’s Red Book: Lessons in Advanced Cross-Examination (NACDL 2025, by Larry Pozner), and his internationally acclaimed seminar Pozner on Cross: the Chapter Method revolutionized our profession’s view of the purposes and methods of modern cross-examination. He has lectured more than 300 times in 49 states, and in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Brazil, Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Larry is a Past President of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He began his career as a Colorado Public Defender, had a small firm criminal defense practice, and later founded a 30-lawyer firm handling complex commercial litigation, both plaintiff and defense, and criminal defense cases. Larry has long been recognized in Best Lawyers in America in civil “Bet the Company” litigation and in Criminal Law—both white collar and non-white collar. He was trial counsel for many years for the Denver Broncos franchise and tried the case that preserved Pat Bowlen’s ownership of the Broncos. He recently won and collected a $111 million judgment against a national bank.
