Bruce E. Deacon
Norton & Smith PCBruce E. Deacon has been in private practice in Denver since 1976. He is Of Counsel at Norton & Smith, P.C. Mr. Deacon's law practice is focused on real estate, estate planning, estate and gift tax, and probate administration. Mr. Deacon served for five years as the liaison from the Trust and Estate Section to the Real Estate Law Section. In addition, he has served as president of the Greater Denver Tax Counsel Association and The City Club of Denver. Mr. Deacon has made presentations on real estate aspects of estate administration and estate planning at CLE courses and the Estate Planning Retreat. In 2009, the Trust and Estate Section awarded Mr. Deacon the first R. Sterling Ambler Award for outstanding contribution to the Trust and Estate practice in the State of Colorado. Also, he is listed as a Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register Preeminent Lawyer. Mr. Deacon has earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Virginia; a J.D., cum laude, at the Syracuse University College of Law; and an LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Denver. Prior to law school, Mr. Deacon was on active duty in the U.S. Navy, including service aboard the USS Denver.
