Bette Heller, Esq., is in private practice with offices in both Centennial and Englewood. Her practice is limited to Estate Planning, Estate and Trust administration, Probate, and Medicaid Planning. Ms. Heller received her B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1972, and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1979. As a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Ms. Heller is a member of the Trust and Estate Section, having served as a past voting member of its Council; and a member of the Elder Law Section. She has also been an active member of the Statutory Revisions Committee since 1984, having served as Co-Chair, Chair, and Legislative Liaison. She was involved in the drafting and passage of the Colorado Probate Code II, which became effective on July 1, 1995, and is the author of the Colorado “Pets Trust” Statute. Ms Heller is also active in both the Arapahoe Bar Association serving as Chair of its T&E CLE Committee and as a past board member; and the Aurora Bar Association having served in the past as a board member, an officer, and president. Ms. Heller was a Board Member of the Colorado Horse Council from 1985 to 2003, having also served at various times during those years as its Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President. This volunteer organization monitors and proposes legislation regarding the use and enjoyment of horses in Colorado; and promotes the Colorado Horse Industry in general. “CHC” was responsible for the drafting and passage of the Colorado Equine Limited Liability Act in 1990.
