Sonya Guram has been with the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) since 2006; during her tenure at OEDIT, she has helped to implement and manage a variety of programs that support a healthy Colorado economy. She currently manages programs that provide access to capital (both debt and equity) to Colorado entrepreneurs and businesses. These programs rely on strong partnerships with economic development professionals across the state, professional venture capital fund managers, mission-based lenders, and organizations providing business support. Sonya has also served at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Prior to civil service, Sonya worked in the private sector in several industries, including:  healthcare, energy, and retail. Sonya served as a small business development volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Poland in the mid-90’s. Sonya holds a masters and bachelor’s degrees in business administration with studies focused on finance and marketing, and is passionate about building economic opportunity for all.
