Dept. of Excise and Licenses for the City and County of DenverMolly Duplechian is the Executive Director of the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses. Under Duplechian's leadership, the Department has led on licensing initiatives like oversight and development of a short-term rental license, a comprehensive overhaul of the city's security guard license, implementation of the largest expansion of licensing in Denver history with the rollout of the residential rental license, and establishment of new opportunities through a Liquor Common Consumption/Entertainment District program and the extended outdoor dining program. While previously serving as the deputy director for the Office of Marijuana Policy, Molly assisted with creating and implementing the regulatory framework for the world's first commercialized regulated marijuana market. Duplechian has been with the City and County of Denver since 2007, previously working in the Budget and Management Office before joining the Office of Marijuana Policy and Excise and Licenses team. Molly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from Ohio University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Idaho State University.
