17th Judicial District Attorney's Office
Lauren Asher, Esq., has been a prosecutor for more than 7 years and an attorney since 2008. Prior to joining the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office, she was a Deputy District Attorney in the Denver District Attorney's office and practiced civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense at large law firms in New York and Denver. Ms. Asher was one of the founding stakeholders of the Handgun Intervention Program in Denver and is currently her office's representative to the Aurora SAVE youth violence prevention program. In addition to prosecuting serious violent offenses, Ms. Asher regularly consults with law enforcement agencies on juvenile and gang issues and teaches the Children's Code at police academies around the metro Denver area. Ms. Asher received her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and her Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude from Fordham Law School. She served as a law clerk for the chief judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
