Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind
Katie Cue is the interim Director and Outreach Manager at the Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind where she also supports the Colorado Early Hearing Detection and Intervention grant. She graduated from Lamar University (doctorate in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education); Rochester Institute of Technology (MS in secondary deaf education); and CU Boulder (BA in English Literature). Her research agenda and publications have included topics such as hearing culture, deaf ecological systems, deaf epistemology, and early intervention. Katie previously taught high school English for five years in both mainstream and deaf school settings in three different states. She also has a background in the non-profit field and organizational development previously serving as the Executive Director for Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment (DOVE), Director of Operations for the Global Reach Out Initiative, as well as operating her own consulting business since 2016.
