Brush CyberDouglas Brush is a court-appointed Special Master and testifying expert in matters involving cybersecurity, information governance, data privacy, and eDiscovery. He has led hundreds of digital forensic and incident response investigations—ranging from ransomware and data theft to trade secret disputes, insider misuse, and complex vendor compromises—and has testified in federal and state courts. Douglas focuses on duty of care, reasonable security program design, and legally defensible responses to incidents, regulatory inquiries, and discovery obligations. He is the founder and president of Brush Cyber, where his work spans dispute consulting, interim CISO engagements, SEC cyber readiness, privacy and governance consulting, enterprise risk assessments, and end-to-end data protection. Previously, he served as one of Splunk’s Global Advisory CISOs and was named the company’s Security Specialist of the Year (FY2021). Douglas is a Fellow of the Academy of Court-Appointed Neutrals (ACAN), advocating for the effective use of ESI and discovery neutrals in complex litigations. He contributes to initiatives with The Sedona Conference and the EDRM, presents internationally on emerging threats and practical risk reduction, and hosts the weekly podcast Cyber Security Interviews. He is based in Denver, Colorado.
