Robert E. Blackburn

Honorable Robert E. Blackburn is a Senior United States District Judge for the District of Colorado. Before coming to the federal bench in March 2002, he served as a District Judge for the Sixteenth Judicial District for the State of Colorado from July 28, 1988, to February 28, 2002. Prior to taking the state court bench in July 1988, Judge Blackburn had been in private practice since his admission to the Colorado bar in May 1975. While in private practice, he also served as a part-time deputy district attorney from 1980-1986, and as the Bent County Attorney from 1980-1988. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Judge Blackburn is married with three grown children and eight grandchildren.
