Elizabeth A. Weishaupl

The Honorable Elizabeth Weishaupl (ret.) is an experienced mediator, arbitrator, appointed neutral and private judge at JAMS Denver. She was a District Court Judge for 15 years in the 18th Judicial District where she served as the Domestic Chief, and presided over hundreds of criminal, civil and probate trials. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Weishaupl was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Colorado, and a First Assistant Attorney general for the Tort Litigation Section of the Colorado Attorney General's Office and served in both the Public Officials Unit and the Education Unit where she specialized in Employment Law and Tort Litigation. Prior to that time, she was in private practice at a boutique litigation firm. She started her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Howard Kirshbaum on the Colorado Supreme Court. She is a graduate of the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law and has taught at the University of Colorado, the University of Denver, the Department of Justice, and several community colleges for many years. She is also a frequent instructor at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has provided CLE programs on Legal Ethics, Trial Tactics, Evidence, and Aritificial Intelligence. She is a native of Colorado and enjoys traveling and reading.
