Terri S. Morrison

Terri S. Morrison, Esq., is legal counsel for the Colorado Judicial Department. She provides technical legal advice and ethical guidance to Judges, magistrates, managers, supervisors and employees in order to avoid or minimize legal liability for the Judicial Branch. She researches unique legal issues impacting the branch by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, chief justice directives and rules. Terri manages a team of five attorneys.  She has held the position of legal counsel since June 2014. Terri began working for the legal team at Judicial in 1997. From 2004-2014 she held the position of First Assistant Legal counsel. Prior to joining the state court administrator's office, Terri worked for the Colorado General Assembly in the Legislative Council Office. She staffed the House Judiciary committee. Terri was a deputy district attorney with the First Judicial District in Golden, Colorado for 4 ½ years. She began her career in law in 1989 after graduating from the University of Colorado, School of Law in Boulder. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
