Elizabeth D. Leith
Denver Probate CourtHonorable Elizabeth D. Leith was appointed to serve as the presiding judge for the Denver Probate Court effective July 1, 2011. Judge Leith presided as a Magistrate over post-decree domestic relations matters in the Second Judicial District from January 1999 until her appointment to the Denver Probate Court. Judge Leith has also served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City and County of Denver and a Deputy District Attorney in the 4th Judicial District, representing the Departments of Human Services on child support, paternity and child protection matters. Judge Leith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State College in 1982 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 1988. Judge Leith sits on the Colorado Supreme Court Probate Rules Committee, serving as Chair for the editing subcommittee, and serves as Chair for the Probate Advisory Workgroup. Judge Leith is a member of the Judicial Education Committee for the Colorado Supreme Court, sits on the Colorado Supreme Court Committee on Civil Jury Instructions and is a past president of the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court. Judge Leith sits on the Executive Committee for the National College of Probate Judges.
