Austin Hamre, Esq., has concentrated his practice on western water law and related aspects of federal natural resource permitting for clients including municipalities, districts, HOAs and individuals for the past 31-years. His practice involves: 1] judicial confirmation of new water rights, changes of existing water rights, and approval of other mechanisms for getting water from where it is available to where it is needed; 2] advising clients on transactional matters, performing pre-purchase water title analyses and the negotiation of water right conveyances; 3] protecting water rights from impairment by others; and 4] related areas of natural resource permitting, including NEPA and Endangered Species Act compliance matters. Mr. Hamre served on the Water Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association in various capacities from 2009 - 2017, serving as chair of the Section from 2011 - 2014.
