Brian D. Boatright

The Honorable Brian D. Boatright was appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court in November 2011. In 2021, he was appointed Chief Justice. Prior to his appointment at the Colorado Supreme Court, Chief Justice Boatright was a District Court Judge in the First Judicial District in Golden, Colorado. As a District Court Judge, he presided over Felony Criminal matters, Probate matters, Civil Cases matters, Dependency & Neglect matters, and Juvenile Delinquency matters. Preceding this appointment to the District Court Bench, he was a Deputy District Attorney in the First Judicial District. Justice Boatright was born in Golden, Colorado, where he graduated from Jefferson High School. He graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. Justice Boatright and his wife Kara have two children.
