Carrie A. Rodgers
Carrie A. Rodgers has practiced in the area of construction law and litigation for 28 years. Her practice includes the representation of owners, developers, homeowner associations, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Her construction business practice includes negotiating and drafting construction contracts of every nature, development agreements, and documents related to site development and construction.
During project construction, she also works with entities on site issues, delay claims, payment disputes, and scheduling disputes. Her construction litigation practice includes construction defect claims, contract disputes, mechanics' liens, state public works claims, Miller Act claims, construction failures and delays, differing site conditions, and defective design. Ms. Rodgers also serves as a mediator and arbitrator in construction and commercial disputes.
Ms. Rodgers is the chair of Moye White Litigation Group and serves as head of the Construction Practice Group. She also chairs the Colorado Bar Association Construction Section. Ms. Rodgers was the Attorney of the Year for the American Subcontractors Association in Colorado in 2014. She has been 5280 Magazine's selection as one of the Top 5 lawyers in Construction Law in 2015 and one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in 2015. For over 5 years she has been Barrister's Best Construction Defect Lawyer and has been a Super Lawyer in Construction Litigation several years. The Denver Business Journal has also selected her as a nominee for Outstanding Woman in Business.
Ms. Rodgers chairs the American Subcontractors Association's Attorney Council and serves on the Board of the Denver Architectural Foundation. She is a graduate of the University of Denver College of Law and Colorado College.
Ms. Rodgers frequently speaks, writes, and teaches. She has spoken on Update of Colorado Construction and Mechanics Lien Law, “Green” Construction Litigation, and What to Do When a Construction Project Goes Bad. She also has written and spoken frequently on Colorado construction defect law and pending legislation. Ms. Rodgers has been an instructor for Turner Construction's Management Program for women- and minority-owned construction businesses at DU, teaching risk management, mechanics' liens, bond claims, and litigation management.
Ms. Rodgers and her husband, Ken, divide their time between Denver and West Yellowstone, Montana, where they share their love of fly fishing and outdoor sports with their children and grandchildren.
