Kate Havey, Esq., is currently a Senior Licensing Manager with Venture Partners at CU Boulder. She works with CU researchers to identify important and innovative inventions and intellectual property for patenting and licensing to companies, including the diverse startups along the front range. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to manage a portfolio of interesting technologies, ranging from biomedical innovations to new EV battery technologies. She began her early career as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force, working as a research engineer, and eventually as an Assistant Professor at the US Air Force Academy, where she taught in the chemistry department and trained cadets for leadership roles in the USAF. After leaving the USAF, she managed research at Penn State, eventually leading to a role in licensing an intellectual property management at Georgia Tech, and now CU.
