Matthew Linton, Esq., is CLO of True Anomaly. Matthew directs an innovative, responsive, and integrated legal department focused on minimizing risk, fostering breakthrough national and international space policy, ensuring compliance, and building a foundation for scaled growth. Before joining True Anomaly, Matthew was Associate General Counsel for Operations at Lockheed Martin Space. He advised on a broad range of regulatory compliance issues, risk assessment and mitigation, crisis response, environmental and workplace safety and health, whistleblower complaints, pandemic law, privacy law, space law and policy, government contracts, and business-to-business agreements. Earlier in his career, Matthew was in private practice with two national law firms and in government practice with the U.S. Department of Labor where he prosecuted workplace safety and health violations throughout the nation. He started his legal career as an appellate law clerk for Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey of the Colorado Supreme Court from 2006-2007. Matthew has been recognized as a rising star by Colorado Super Lawyers, he received the U.S. Department of Labor Secretary's Exceptional Achievement Award for work related to a major mining disaster, and he was the inaugural chair of the Colorado Lawyer's Committee Young Lawyers Division, a nonpartisan consortium of more than 60 Colorado law firms dedicated to creating and increasing opportunities for children, the poor and other disadvantaged communities through advocacy, negotiation and litigation. He received Lockheed Martin Space awards for Exceptional Service in 2022 and Teamwork in 2021, and a Lockheed Martin Corporate NOVA award for Teamwork on the COVID-19 Task Force in 2021. Matthew has a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Matthew grew up ski racing in Colorado and California mountain towns and today enjoys skiing, hiking, and travel trailering with his wife and two young children.
