Carolyn Welshhans, Esq., is an Associate Director in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement and has served as the Acting Chief of the Division’s Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit. Previously, she was an Assistant Director in the Enforcement Division’s Cyber Unit and Market Abuse Unit. Ms. Welshhans has supervised numerous significant enforcement actions involving insider trading, market structure, hacking, cybersecurity, unregistered offerings, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and public company accounting and financial disclosure violations. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Welshhans was in private practice. She received her J.D. from the Boston College Law School, and she received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
