Barbara G. Jensen

Barbara Jensen, Esq., is a shareholder and senior partner at Litvak Litvak Mehrtens and Carlton, P.C. She has limited her practice exclusively to family law for the past 19 years. She was a prosecutor in the 1st Judicial District from 1986-1992, where she cofounded the Crimes Against Children Unit. From 1992-1999, she practiced family law, appellate law, and criminal defense. She was appointed GAL in D&N cases and Special Advocate in dissolution of marriage cases. Ms. Jensen graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1986, where she received an American Jurisprudence Award in Wills, Deeds and Trusts. Her undergraduate degree is in journalism and French, from the University of Kansas. She studied and lived in Bordeaux, France, for one year. Prior to attending law school, she was an editor for a publishing company. She has lectured in family law for the Family Law Institute, the Lawyers Public Information Foundation, the Colorado Bar and county bar associations, and the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association. She has also presented lectures in the area of Juvenile Delinquency, Interviewing Children in Sexual Assault Cases, and Investigating Child Abuse Death Cases. She has been retained as an expert witness concerning Dependency and Neglect cases. She has been named as a Super Lawyer in Colorado for a number of years. Ms. Jensen has volunteered in the community, including Moot Court trial competitions and the International Conference of Child Holocaust Survivors.
