Kathie Troudt Riley, Esq., is a sole practitioner in Loveland, Colorado. Her practice emphasis is to serve the agricultural and equine industries, including family farm and ranch issues and mediation throughout rural Colorado. She is a graduate of the University of Denver College of Law. Prior to private practice, Kathie was general counsel for the Colorado Department of Agriculture as an Assistant Attorney General, appearing in courts throughout Colorado. She has also practiced law in Jackson County, Colorado as a sole practitioner and the Deputy District Attorney and as a Major in the Judge Advocate General's Corp in the Colorado Army National Guard and the Army Reserves. Kathie is the vice-chair of the Litigation Council and chair of the Agricultural Law Council, representing the Agricultural Law Section on the CBA Board of Governors. Kathie teaches Agricultural Law at Colorado State University and also lectures in the CSU Equine Sciences Program. She speaks frequently at programs throughout the state for beginning farmers and those interested agricultural recreation.
