16th Judicial District
Honorable M. Jon Kolomitz came to the bench in 1985. In addition to his duties in handling a mixed docket, since 1988 he has served as the Chief Judge of the Sixteenth Judicial District-Bent Crowley and Otero Counties. He has also been active in state-wide judicial matters. In 2008 he received the Judicial Excellence Award from the Colorado Judicial Institute. He has recently been designated by the Chief Justice as one of three judges to preside over the resolution of conservation easement tax credit disputes.
