Twyla Sketchley, Esq., is a Florida Bar Board Certified Elder Law Attorney who is licensed to practice in Florida and Montana. She founded The Sketchley Law Firm, P.A. in Tallahassee in 2002 where her practice focuses on elder law, guardianship, fiduciary representation, and elder law related litigation. She is a past Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and a past President of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA). She is the current Chair of the Guardianship Committee of The Florida Bar Elder Law Section. In 2016, she founded The Sketchley Method, to assist attorneys and other professionals find information and resources on the prevention of the maltreatment of elders and people with disabilities. In addition to being active in Florida in guardianship policy and legislative advocacy, Ms. Sketchley is active in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is member of the NAELA guardianship committee. She speaks on issues of guardianship and exploitation nationally and throughout her community. She has served as a Court Monitor in numerous Florida guardianship cases and is recognized in the Florida courts regarding guardianship issues. In her spare time, Ms. Sketchley enjoys visiting national parks with her husband, playing with her grandchildren, and sewing fidget mats for local charities that serve the needs of persons with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
