David S. Law, Esq., is an associate attorney at Leventhal Lewis where his practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury and medical malpractice claims, employment issues, business litigation, and trust disputes. David is a skilled legal writer who has drafted numerous prevailing briefs, including lengthy proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law in a breach of fiduciary duties matter; a prevailing motion to compel arbitration in a civil fraud case; a prevailing response to a motion to compel arbitration in a Fair Labor Standards Act collective action; a prevailing motion for conditional certification in a Fair Labor Standards Act collective action; a prevailing motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction in a civil theft case; a prevailing motion to change venue in a breach of contract case; a prevailing motion for leave to add a claim for exemplary damages in a wrongful death case; and a prevailing motion to compel production of documents in a civil theft matter. David received his J.D. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law in May 2021, graduating in the top 4% of his class. While in school, David received a number of awards for his academic performance and writing, including American Jurisprudence Awards (for highest grade) in many courses, the Wilson Hurt Oral Argument Award, and the Reese Persuasive Writing Award. He participated in a number of extracurricular activities, including DU’s Peer and Professional Mentorship Programs, the Honorable Phillip S. Figa Motions Competition, and the Student Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to law school, David worked as a bodily injury claims adjuster for several years and then as a plaintiff-side paralegal for several more. These roles taught him what works—and what doesn’t work—for effectively presenting and settling civil claims. His position as a claims adjuster was particularly useful: It gave him a unique, insider’s perspective on how the insurance industry operates, and why having a capable lawyer by your side is so important. In his spare time, David enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing with his wife. They particularly enjoy trapsing around the mountains outside Ouray, Colorado, and soaking in that area’s hot springs.
