State Court Administrator's Office--Office of Language AccessPatricia Ward, prior to being hired as a Court Programs Analyst with the Office of Language Access (OLA), Patricia Ward worked as a contract interpreter for 13 years. She was hired as a Staff Interpreter for the 13th Judicial district in 2015 where she helped direct interpreters of Languages Other than Spanish (LOTS). Patricia was then hired by the 18th Judicial District. As a staff interpreter in the 18th, she helped trained and then assisted the new Interpreter Coordinator. She also guided and prepared interpreters coming to work in the district for the first time. As an analyst in OLA, she leads the Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) project and is currently focused on promoting the use of Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) in virtual courtrooms. In the past year, she has created and presented trainings on RSI to contract/staff interpreters, and judicial personnel throughout the state.
