Suzette M. Malveaux, Esq., is Provost Professor of Civil Rights Law and Director of the Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law at the University of Colorado Law School.  She teaches Civil Procedure, Complex Litigation, Civil Rights Law and Fair Employment Law, and writes in these areas.  She is a member of the American Law Institute (ALI).  Prior to academia, she litigated civil rights cases, specializing in class actions and complex litigation.  Her cases include: Wal-Mart v. Dukes in which she represented over 1 million women in the largest employment discrimination case to date; and Alexander v. State of Oklahoma, a pro bono lawsuit filed on behalf of the victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre against the City of Tulsa for constitutional violations.  Malveaux graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and earned her J.D. from NYU School of Law, where she was an Associate Editor of the Law Review, a Root-Tilden Scholar, and a Fellow at the Center for International Law. Malveaux clerked for the Honorable Robert L. Carter (S.D.N.Y.).
