Laurie Hanson, Esq., is a lawyer with Long, Reher & Hanson, P.A., an elder law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she concentrates her practice exclusively in the area of special needs estate planning representing clients who are aging or living with disabilities with regard to public benefit eligibility, special needs, supplemental needs, and pooled trusts; personal injury and divorce settlement planning; probate; trust litigation; and surrogate decision-making.  Ms. Hanson is a board member of the Special Needs Alliance, a national professional association of attorneys committed to helping individuals with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who represent them.  She is past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and has been named a Super Lawyer by her peers consistently since 2001. She is currently the secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. During COVID, she practices law remotely at her home at the end of the Gunflint Trail where in her spare time she watches for bear and moose.
