Christine Hernandez is Vice President and General Counsel, Intellectual Property for VF Corporation, whose brands include The North Face, Vans, Timberland, Dickies, Altra, Kipling, JanSport, Eastpak, Icebreaker, and Eagle Creek. She provides expertise on a wide array of intellectual property issues including trademark selection and clearance, advertising and domain name matters, and leads VF's anti-counterfeiting efforts, including implementing online enforcement strategies and regularly training federal law enforcement personnel on identifying genuine VF products. She is also active in VF's acquisitions and divestitures, supporting the purchases of the Dickies and Altra brands and the successful spin-off of the Lee, Wrangler and Rock & Republic brands. She joined VF in 2014 and is based in Wilmington, Delaware. Ms. Hernandez began her career in private practice, where she counseled clients in a diverse array of industries on the selection, clearance and adoption of trademarks, including complex multinational trademark filing and acquisition strategies.  She also handled all stages of infringement and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters and advised on corporate transactions involving intellectual property assets. Ms. Hernandez has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on copyright, trademark and trade secret matters. Ms. Hernandez received her bachelor's degree from Harvard University and her juris doctorate from Columbia Law School.
