Deborah Yim, Esq., is the founder and managing attorney of the Denver-based Primera Law Group, a plaintiff's side law firm specializing in all areas of employment law. Deborah also provides employment advice and personnel counseling to small businesses and non-profit organizations. She was recently recognized by Law Week Colorado as the People's Choice for “Best Employment Lawyer for Plaintiffs” (2022). Previously, Deborah served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California litigating civil, civil fraud, and employment law matters, and she was also an attorney-adviser in the labor & employment unit of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Deborah is the current president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado and was appointed by Mayor Hancock to serve on the City of Denver's Immigrant and Refugee Commission. She also provides pro bono assistance on employment law cases through the Federal Pro Se Panel and helped create the Denver County Court Civil Pro Se Panel Program. With support from the CBA's Labor & Employment Section, PELA, and the CWBA, Deborah has organized Know-Your-Employment-Rights Workshops for the women of Dress for Success, a non-profit providing at-risk women with job readiness tools, professional attire and post-employment support.
