Kathryn “Katie” Thomas Birckenstaedt, Esq., founded the Colorado Nonprofit Legal Center on April 30, 2019. CNLC is dedicated to providing affordable legal and governance services to nonprofits operating in Colorado. She currently serves as Executive Director and Corporate Counsel for the organization. In the past, Katie was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and Daniels College of Business. She taught Nonprofit Organizations, Business Law and Public Policy, and Corporations. Katie has extensive experience and knowledge in the nonprofit sector and began her career as a nonprofit attorney when she was Corporate Counsel for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
