Humberto . Prospero

Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network
Humberto Prospero, Esq., joined RMIAN in July of 2022 as a Staff Attorney in the Detention Program. Humberto is passionate about helping immigrants navigate the complicated United States immigration system because he was an immigrant as a young child. He and his family have had great success here in the United States because of an immigration program that was more supportive than it is now. Prior to joining RMIAN, he had a 40-year career at IBM as an engineer and executive, but in 2016 realized he wanted to do more to give back to this country. He retired from his job at IBM and went on the arduous path of becoming an immigration lawyer. His focus is around helping organize the community to reform immigration policy while also supporting as many immigrants as possible to help them with a path to citizenship that is dignified and attainable. He has a miraculous family made-up of four children, four grandchildren, and a wife to whom he's been married for many years. He is a reluctant owner of a dog and two cats and enjoys snowboarding when he can.
