Michelle Worrall Tilton is a principal of Media Risk Consultants, LLC in Kansas City, which provides consulting services to media companies, insurance brokers and insurance companies. Currently, Michelle is a full-time underwriting and marketing consultant for Mutual Insurance Company, Ltd., a Bermuda-based media insurer. Michelle has worked in media liability insurance for more than 30 years and has expertise in claims, underwriting and product development. In 1998, she founded a media liability managing general underwriting agency, First Media Insurance Specialists, Inc., which she sold to OneBeacon Insurance Company in 2005; later serving as a Vice President and Media Liability Product Manager until starting her consulting business with partner, Chad Milton, six years ago. She has been active in the Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the ABA serving as Chair of the Privacy and Defamation Torts Committee and currently as Chair-Elect of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee. Michelle is also involved in the ABA Forum on Communications Law - Women in Communications Law Committee, the Media Law Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and has served for many years as a Co-Chair of the Missouri Bar Association's Insurance Programs Committee. Michelle, who is also a licensed property and casualty insurance agent, holds degrees in journalism and law from the University of Kansas.
