Megan K. Bannigan is a litigation partner in Debevoise & Plimpton LLP's Litigation and Intellectual Property & Media Group, focusing on trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, false advertising, design patents, rights of publicity, licensing and other related contractual disputes. Ms. Bannigan has extensive trial experience, as well as experience representing clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the International Trade Commission. Recognized by World Trademark Review, Managing Intellectual Property's IP STARS, The Legal 500 and Law360 as a top trademark attorney and rising star, she is also active intellectual property-related professional organizations, including as Chair of the American Bar Association- Intellectual Property Law Section's Trademark Litigation Committee. She also spearheaded the development of the International Trademark Association's Pro Bono clearinghouse, was a member of the 2019 INTA Presidential Task Force focusing on corporate responsibility and brands for a better society and, in 2017, was awarded the INTA Volunteer Service Award for Advancement of the Association. Ms. Bannigan, in addition, is an adjunct professor, teaching fashion law at Rutgers University.
