Colorado Department of Human ServicesChristine Flavia has more than 35 years of experience working in the substance abuse treatment field, most of that time specializing in impaired driving treatment. She is a state and nationally certified addictions counselor with experience in direct services, clinical supervision, program management and regulatory oversight. In her current position as the manager of DUI services for the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), Christine oversees the treatment services for impaired drivers in Colorado, licensing and regulation of substance use disorder treatment programs and state policy and program development related to impaired driving. She currently serves on the Colorado Task Force for Drunk & Impaired Driving and on the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board where she actively builds bridges between systems. Christine has been instrumental in building the DUI treatment system in Colorado for the last 15 years with OBH, adding interlock counseling to the array of services offered by licensed DUI providers and creating a new level of DUI treatment for impaired drivers with four or more DUIs which was successfully implemented in 2017. Christine regularly trains and presents in Colorado and nationally regarding DUI treatment.
