Alyssa Telander, Esq., is the Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney for RMIAN’s Children’s Program. Before joining RMIAN, Alyssa worked as an Associate Attorney for over two years at the private immigration firm Kolko & Casey, P.C. Prior to relocating to Denver, Alyssa lived in New York for a short time, where she provided public defender style representation to individuals detained at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility through the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project (NYIFUP). Alyssa is a 2017 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law. Before lawschool, Alyssa lived on the U.S.-Mexico border for several years. During her time there, she served as an AmeriCorps volunteer at two non-profit legal service organizations in El Paso, Texas, and then served as the Outreach Coordinator at the ACLU, Regional Center for Border Rights in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Alyssa speaks Spanish. In her spare time, Alyssa likes to go camping and spend time outdoors with her husband and her dog.
