Beverly Katz is a Director in KPMG LLP's Washington National Tax Passthroughs practice. Her practice focuses on transactional tax planning, including partnership acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings. She is a Vice-Chair of the Partnerships and LLCs Committee of the ABA Section of Taxation. Prior to joining KPMG, she was with the Internal Revenue Service's Office of Chief Counsel for 15 years. Most recently, Bev spent six years as Special Counsel to the Associate Chief Counsel (Passthroughs & Special Industries). While at the IRS, she worked extensively on regulations and other guidance regarding partnership tax issues. Prior to joining the Office of Chief Counsel, Bev worked at the Department of Justice, Tax Division, litigating tax matters across the country. Ms. Katz holds a J.D. cum laude from University of Miami, School of Law and B.A. magna cum laude, from University of Florida, School of Accountancy.
