Jeremy Ben Merkelson is a partner in the Denver and Washington, D.C. offices of Holland & Hart LLP, where he practices in the Labor & Employment Department. Mr. Merkelson works with employers of all sizes to develop first-tier personnel policies, avoid litigation, and minimize employment-related risks including trade secret theft, whistleblower retaliation lawsuits, and unlawful discrimination claims. Mr. Merkelson previously served as general counsel and assistant director of the Association of American Law Schools and as an associate with the law firm of Morrison & Foerster in Washington, D.C. Mr. Merkelson earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law ('09) and his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University ('04). Before attending law school, Mr. Merkelson was an Urban Fellow with the New York City Fire Department.
