Robert Bowman, Esq., is a forward thinker who keeps up with the changing landscape of technical innovation and the law surrounding the Internet of Things, blockchain, smart contracts and data privacy. As part of his multidisciplinary technology transactions practice, Bob drafts and negotiates software licenses, software and mobile application development agreements, data sharing and management agreements, intellectual property licenses and assignments, and website terms of use and privacy policies. Bob also advises clients on privacy issues related to Software as a Service platforms and other internet-based services and commerce and assists generally with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) compliance strategies. Bob often serves as outside counsel for clients, advising on technology acquisition and web- and mobile-based commerce. He also assists clients more broadly in developing intellectual property protection strategies using his years of experience prosecuting patents and trademarks. Prior to launching his legal career, Bob worked as a structural engineer in the construction industry. He draws upon this background to align client matters with broader business goals.
