Amy . Mahlen Melander
A.M. FinancialAmy Mahlen Melander, CFP®, CDFA™, founded A.M. Financial in 2015, offering professional divorce financial services to individuals, couples and their family law professionals throughout the dissolution of marriage process. She considers herself and other experienced divorce financial professionals as pertinent members of a client's overall divorce team regardless of their path of engagement - mediation, litigation, collaborative law, or a co-operative (aka little 'c') cases. She participates in various capacities in a supportive role addressing concepts such as cash flow needs, overall tax planning resulting from the dissolution (realized or unrealized), real estate issues, complex investments, executive compensation, retirement accounts, pension valuations, retirement and distribution planning, expert reporting, among other issues. She strongly believes clients are seeking additional comprehensive support to help manage the overwhelming process and that with it, they are capable of making more confident, informed decisions that lead to improved post-divorce lives. Amy is an active member of Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals and serves as a financial neutral in formal collaborative cases. As a seasoned financial professional working with families since 1998, she also enjoys providing continual post-divorce support to clients with wealth management as an independent wealth manager at WealthSource Partners LLC. When Amy is not working, she is often caring for and loving on many foster puppies she takes on in addition to spoiling her 3 dogs. The first foster family she helped was during the height of COVID for a heartworm positive momma in horrible physical condition with 11 one-week old puppies (momma ended up being a foster-fail!). She recognizes that as a soon-to-be empty nester of 3, she needs a place to direct her energy in a positive way- and the puppies help to bring her older kids home in addition to a home cooked meal.
