National Basketball AssociationMichael Potenza is Vice President and Intellectual Property Counsel for NBA Properties, Inc., where his focus is on digital enforcement of the NBA's intellectual property rights against digital piracy and counterfeiting. Prior to joining the NBA in 2015, Mr. Potenza's private practice focused on litigation involving the Internet and intellectual property, with an emphasis on copyright and trademark infringement, the First Amendment and rights of publicity. Mr. Potenza graduated magna cum laude from Yale College in 1990, with a B.A. in History, and from Harvard Law School, with a J.D. magna cum laude in 1995. Mr. Potenza served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable William G. Bassler, US District Court for the District of New Jersey and to Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. when he sat on the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
