Sean K. Murphy, Esq., began his professional life at the German Federal Trust Agency, mediating conflicting property restitution claims in the wake of German reunification. Sean subsequently practiced law at White & Case, LLP, Mayer, Brown & Platt, LLP and Deloitte Tax, LLP for 16 years in New York, specializing in tax and mergers and acquisitions. Following his entrepreneurial interests, Sean moved to Telluride in 2012 to open a wine bar and fine art gallery business. Sean served as Mayor of Telluride from November 2015 to November 2019. In June 2020, Governor Polis appointed Sean to serve as San Miguel County Court Judge. Since 2017, Sean has been of counsel to the firm of Tueller & Gibbs, LLP, with offices in Denver and Telluride.
