Alejandro Monarez, Esq., focuses his practice at Ballard Spahr LLP on expanding economic opportunities, establishing thriving communities, and building homes for the unhoused. He brings his legal and business perspective to make every transaction successful and has assisted with and completed many involving the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program, the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program, the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation program, and other federal, state, and local sources of subsidy. He has also provided counsel on related matters including Qualified Allocation Plans, post-year 15 considerations, property tax exemption, Section 42 Right of First Refusal agreements, and preservation of affordability issues, as well as the burgeoning development of middle-income housing. Before joining Ballard, he was a Senior Attorney at the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
