Josie Burt, Esq., is an appellate attorney on the Office of Child Representative’s Appellate and Litigation Support Team. She represents children in both trial and appellate courtrooms in all aspects of child welfare (dependency and neglects, juvenile delinquency, and high conflict divorce). She represented adults in both trial and appellate courtrooms on a variety of cases domestic relations issues such as guardianship, grandparent rights, property division, and a variety of civil issues such as torts, attorneys fees, contempt, personal injury, negligence, and governmental immunity. In 2021, she worked as a special assistant county attorney participating in dependency and neglect appeals on behalf of Mesa County. In 2023 she switched to child and youth only representation. She has her Master’s degree in Government Organization and Leadership and Juris Doctor from Creighton University.
