Rachel A. Zancanella, P.E., is the Division Engineer for the Arkansas River Basin, (Division 2) with the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Rachel is originally from Glenwood Springs, CO where she lived before completing her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2008 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. After graduation she spent a couple years in water resources consulting with URS Corporation before she began her career with DWR in 2011 as a Deputy Water Commissioner in Colorado Springs. After passing the PE, Ms. Zancanella joined the Pueblo DWR office in 2014 as a Water Resources Engineer leading the Groundwater Team before becoming the Assistant Division Engineer for Litigation in 2016 and then the Lead Assistant Division Engineer for Engineering Operations in 2018. In December 2022 Ms. Zancanella was appointed to her current position of Division Engineer. She currently lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband and four children.
