Esther Ford is a Partner of international IP firm Marks & Clerk LLP, working with a team of electronics IP specialists in Cambridge UK. Esther studied electronics at Cambridge University and at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany. She has worked closely with clients both in the UK and the US for many years, and has extensive experience in managing international patent portfolios. After completing her PhD in Microelectronics, Esther worked as a research engineer for Nortel Networks and subsequently in a telecommunications design consultancy. In her IP practice, her recent focus has been in the fields of Internet Content Provision, the 'Internet of Things', and Power Electronics. She has significant experience representing clients at the EPO in oppositions and appeals (both defending and opposing), and has been recognised as a rising star by Managing Intellectual Property, IP Stars, 2017.
