Russell B. Klein is the Deputy Attorney General for Business & Licensing at the Office of the Colorado Attorney General, where he supervises the legal representation of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (including its divisions of Professions and Occupations, Banking, Civil Rights, Financial Services, Insurance, Real Estate, and Securities), the Department of Agriculture, the Independent Ethics Commission, the State Claims Board, the Mined Land Reclamation Board, the State Personnel Board, the Office of the Child Protection Ombudsman, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman. He regularly advises licensing and regulatory boards and programs on issues related to litigation, policy, open meetings, and open records. Mr. Klein actively practices before all administrative and state courts in Colorado at both the trial and appellate level. Prior to becoming Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Klein served as the First Assistant Attorney General for the Financial & Health Services Unit, representing the Division of Securities and numerous health care-related boards and programs within the Division of Professions & Occupations. Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office in 2005, Mr. Klein was in private practice with a diverse civil litigation practice. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia and his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo.
