The Honorable J. Keith Collins was appointed as a Boulder County District Court Judge in May 2021. Prior to his appointment, he served as a District Court Magistrate in Boulder. Judge Collins began his legal career with the Boulder District Attorney’s Office before becoming a founding partner of the Boulder law firm Collins, Rafik & Jacobson, where he practiced criminal defense until his appointment to the bench. Throughout his judicial tenure, Judge Collins has presided over a wide range of dockets and is currently in a Domestic Relations rotation. He values the opportunity DR cases provide to engage directly with parties and appreciates the challenge of navigating the unique complexities of each case. Outside of the courtroom, Judge Collins and his wife, Nicole, stay busy with their three children, who range in age from 6 to 16.
