Charles Vernon, Esq., joined RMIAN in August 2018 as Immigrant Justice Legal Fellow to represent detained immigrants pro bono at the Aurora ICE Processing Center in Aurora, CO. Charles graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona, Rogers College of Law in Tucson, Arizona in 2011. After graduating, he began working as a staff attorney with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project in Florence, AZ, and later served there as Pro Bono Coordinator and Senior Mental Health Attorney, handling appointments to represent immigrants with serious mental health issues through the National Qualified Representative Program (NQRP). In June 2018 Charles left the Florence Project after nearly seven years in order to move to Colorado with his wife and two-year-old daughter, to be closer to family. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, reading novels, and rock climbing.
