Lisa Aronson Fontes, Ph.D., has dedicated two decades to making the mental health, social service, and criminal justice systems more responsive to culturally diverse people. Her most recent books are: Invisible Chains: Overcoming Coercive Control in Your Intimate Relationship, Interviewing Clients Across Cultures: A Practitioner’s Guide, and Child Abuse and Culture: Working with Diverse Families. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has worked as a family, individual, and group psychotherapist, and has conducted research with diverse populations in the United States and Latin America. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
