University of Massachusetts AmherstLisa Aronson Fontes, Ph.D., has dedicated two decades to making the mental health, social service, and criminal justice systems more responsive to culturally diverse people. Her most recent books are: Invisible Chains: Overcoming Coercive Control in Your Intimate Relationship, Interviewing Clients Across Cultures: A Practitioner’s Guide, and Child Abuse and Culture: Working with Diverse Families. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has worked as a family, individual, and group psychotherapist, and has conducted research with diverse populations in the United States and Latin America. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
