J. Allen . Shriver

J. Allen Shriver graduated from West Virginia University with a dual Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Mining Engineering.  Upon graduation, he worked for Consolidation Coal Company as a Production/Maintenance Engineer.  He then earned his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University.  He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and has passed the USPTO Agent's Exam.   Allen began his career with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in December 1999 as a Patent Examiner in the Land and Motorized Vehicle art unit 3611.  In 2005, he became a Primary Examiner in TC 3600.  Next, he served as a SPE Trainer with the Office of Patent Training in 2007, overseeing the training of new Patent Examiners from TC 3600 and 3700.   Allen was then selected to the position of Supervisory Patent Examiner in TC 3600, where he has supervised Examiners in several art areas.  He currently oversees art unit 3618 that examines Land and Motorized Vehicles .  He has served details at the Detroit Regional Office training a class of new Examiners and has served as a Resource Supervisory Patent Examiner at the Rocky Mountain Regional Office.  He is currently serving as a Permanent SPE out of the Rocky Mountain Regional Office.
