Heather Freiburger, Esq., is Supervisory Counsel for Regional Operations in the SEC’s Denver Regional Office, where she liaises with local regulatory and law enforcement authorities and evaluates whistleblower tips, public complaints, referrals, and BSA filings. Ms. Freiburger previously worked as Counsel in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Freiburger was Senior Counsel for FINRA Enforcement in the Denver and Chicago regional offices, where she investigated suspected securities rule violations, negotiated settlements, and litigated contested charges. Ms. Freiburger began her legal career as an associate in private practice in Chicago, where she specialized in securities litigation, white collar and regulatory defense, and internal investigations. Ms. Freiburger earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, and bachelor degrees in psychology and sociology with high distinction from the University of Michigan.
